Recruitment of Research Assistant and Field Investigator for ICSSR Project
Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant and Field Investigator for the ICSSR-funded project under the scheme of Family and Family Systems in India (2025-26) titled “Ritual Worship, Ancestral Divinities and Re-constructing Joint Family in Contemporary North Kerala” at the School of Social Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala.
Vacancy Details
- Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 37,000/- p.m.
- Period of Appointment: 6 months (Extendable up to 10 months based on performance)
- Required Qualifications: Post Graduate in Social Sciences/Humanities (55% minimum) with NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D. Desirable: Expertise in studies on kinship and rituals.
- Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 20,000/- p.m.
- Period of Appointment: 6 months
- Required Qualifications: Post Graduate in Social Sciences/Humanities with a minimum of 55% marks. Desirable: Familiarity with Studies on kinship and rituals.
Task Description
Researchers are expected to perform both office desk work (academic as well as financial accounting) and ethnographic field research in the Kannur and Kasaragod districts of Kerala. Specific requirements include thorough examination of literature and theories, preparation of research design, intensive data collection, data documentation, analysis, and writing.
