2. About NIT Rourkela
NIT Rourkela (the erstwhile Regional Engineering College, renamed on 26th June 2002) is one of the institutes of national importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The government of India has elevated the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela to an autonomous institution under the name of the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.

The International Bio Engineering Conference (IBEC-2026) is centered around the theme “Future of Bio-engineering: From discovery and technology development to market”. Hosted by the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering at NIT Rourkela, it aims to mediate a dialogue among researchers, scientists, and engineers for translating bioengineering research into technologies, products, and services serving healthcare and society. Selected manuscripts will be published in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules (IF-8.7), while remaining work will be published as conference proceedings.
